Been looking at this blog post on the violent beating & rape of a trans woman rapper and smoldering. Can't remember if it was covered here but just in case you hadn't heard anyway.

And I did an angreh post on an 11 year old's suicide over anti-gay bullying, which I think was already covered here but I add more "fuck".

And...s'bout it I think.

@sexgenderbody nice idea, imho I think you should work on the design a little bit, so it doesn't appear so amateurish. Sorry if that sounded absolutely horrible. LOL

Queer Zine Archive Project

http://qzap.org/v5/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

Check out the Events link (at the top of the page). There's all sorts of interesting things coming up for queers and queer zine fans. If you're geographically close to an event, please try to attend. You'll probably find more zines and zinesters, and generally have a blast.

Finally, dig through the archive if you haven't done so in a while. A few more zines have gone up recently, including Queer Action Figures, Lithp Gay, and Freaky Power among others.

Take Action by contacting Penn State University for academic equality!

Penn State University of Harrisburg has been given the generous gift of $3 million dollars. Given by an anonymous philanthropist, “The philanthropist requested that half the total gift be used for scholarships, particularly for women and minority students,”…The other $1.5 million will be used for high-priority initiatives at the College, all of which ultimately benefit students, as well.” http://php.scripts.psu.edu/dept/iit/hbg/about/News/2009-04/04-08-Gift.php

Request that these funds, or funds freed up by this gift, are used to create a better atmosphere for GLBTQ students and all sexual minorities by creating a scholarship for working-class / working-poor lesbian and GLBTQ students as well as the expansion of the Women’s Studies program into a program inclusive of GLBTQ Studies.

Currently, Penn State and Penn State Harrisburg do not offer a major or minor for GLBTQ students to study and speak from their own cultural perspective.

Ok, maybe a stretch but, this story could be of interest. It's about a girl born with a Y chromosome. Not two X chromosomes. One X and one Y. So.. why is she a girl? Read the story.

I missed Sunday by a little bit, but I thought that with all the focus on what the courts are doing for gay marriage, people might be interested in what the courts are doing with adoption.

A court case in New York just denied a woman any visitation or custodial rights with her child she helped raise for two and a half years because, even though she had a civil union with her partner, she had never formally adopted the child. And because she was also not the biological mother, she had no standing to request aid from the court.

I talk about the case here and explore some of the things coupled queers can do to avoid this situation and ensure their rights are protected:
