VERMONT LEGALIZES SAME-SEX MARRIAGE!

The Vermont legislature has just voted 100-49 to overturn the Governors veto of marriage. Vermont officially becomes the 4th state in the union to allow same-sex marriage after Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Iowa.

Thank you for all your hard work and congratulations!!!

Wonderful! I'm so sick of people demeaning and blaming great founding principles of equality on "activists judges". A veto-proof majority in a legislative body speaks even louder for such principles than a simple majority. It's a great day.

Guys there is a great LGBT civil rights organization called the Empowering Spirits Foundation. They are very creative in how they approach this hot topic issue of gay marriage, in that they engage in service oriented activities in communities typically opposed to equal rights to foster thought and change for LGBT equality.

A friend of mine told me about it and I thought it was a great, positive approach to the issue. We had so much fun at the last event and it was great to give back to the community. Plus it was great to converse with others on the other side of the table in a way that wasn't confrontational.

Anyway, this can be such a heated issue and I thought this was a unique approach.

Leave it to Vermont and Iowa to be the most progressive states in the nation, shame on us here in California for passing Prop 9. Whether you call it Gay Marriage or Civil Union, the basic premise is that every person should have equal rights. It’s good to see that some states are progressing, I made a list on my site of the states I think will legalize Gay Marriage first: http://www.toptentopten.com/topten/first+states+that+will+legalize+gay+marriage
